Jo Lund

Jo Lund has been a member of Sweet Adelines International for over 35 years. She was accepted into the Association of Arrangers as an Approved arranger in 1978 and graduated to Certified Music Arranger status in 1993. She entered the judging program in 1991 and has been judging since 1997, earning the title Certified Music Judge in 2000. SAI has published many of her arrangements to date.

Other achievements: in 1992 she competed in Baltimore MD with the City Lights quartet and they won the International Championship in that year. (also called Queens of Harmony). In addition, she's been a front line director three times with various choruses in New Jersey, about 20 years experience total. For approx. 20 years, she had the pleasure of singing in the Ramapo Valley Chorus, under the direction of Renee Craig, legendary arranger and director, earning two International Gold medals, 1986 and 1990. She's been on the Int'l. Faculty and still coaches quartets and choruses and gives individuals voice lessons throughout the world, arranges and judges. She is thrilled with the exciting life she's had!

When her husband Bill retired, she happily settled in more affordable Pennsylvania. She did sing and compete with Pride of Baltimore for almost two years and has a 2nd place Int'l. medal. She is now CAL (Chapter at Large), not active in a chorus, but does sing in shows where she lives.

Alice Blue Gown is a contest ballad, medium difficulty. Since the song is in the public domain, there are no per-copy fees.

Any Time is also in the public domain. It's an Eddy Arnold hit, a swing tune of easy difficulty and suitable for contest.

How Long Has This Been Going On is a show piece, not for contest. It's a swing ballad made famous by Ella Fitzgerald and Maureen McGovern. Medium to Difficult.

50's Medley is a combination of Rock Around the Clock, Who put the Bop in the Bop-she-bop-she-bop, Yakity Yak and Rock and Roll is here to stay. This fun not-for-contest piece is easy with a few solos.
